Medical Massage

Medical Massage addresses very specific soft tissue complaints and pain syndromes by utilizing specialized techniques like trigger point therapy and deep muscle stripping. Areas of soft tissue complaints include neck, shoulders, back, hips, knees and feet as well as whiplash, inter-scapula entrapment, rotator cuff complaints, low back pain including piriformis syndrome and sciatica pain, and plantar fasciitis. Our massage therapists that offer medical massage have all completed a great deal of additional training.

Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage

Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage (with Hot Steam Packs) incorporates deeply therapeutic techniques, this sophisticated style of massage therapy addresses specific soft tissue complaints, painful holding patterns, chronic muscular pain, injuries, and degenerative conditions. Our master practitioners combine the latest cutting-edge technology, integrating medical massage and neuromuscular trigger point therapy with deep tissue, sports massage, and myofascial therapy.

Manual Lymph Drainage

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is the rage all over Europe right now for all of its amazing health and anti-aging benefits. MLD is a highly specialized form of massage, which uses light, rhythmical, and very precise hand movements. The lymph system of the body is our human waste disposal system. This treatment helps our immune system stay healthy and viable.

There are over 60 different ailments and conditions for which MLD is recommended. Prenatal Massage / Pregnancy Massage therapy during pregnancy greatly contributes to the health and well-being of all mothers-to-be. Our therapists have received specialty training in prenatal massage, and our facilities support a pregnant body with uniquely-designed cushion systems that address expectant mothers' special needs. We require that all mothers-to-be coming to Providence Health and Fitness for a massage be past their first trimester.
