Providence Health and Fitness was founded by Kathy McCready and her husband Larry Heisler, MA, LMT.

Kathy is a former professional prima ballerina of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Co, in Seattle, WA and New Jersey Ballet, and Jack Lalanne's number one personal trainer in the tri-state during Jack's Bally days. With well over thirty years in the wellness industry, Kathy has dedicated her life to helping her thousands of clients. She previously managed Terra Sky Center for Wellness in Summit, NJ after living in Arizona working at 5 Diamond Resorts. Larry is the founder and director of the longest running school of massage therapy in the Garden State and is a massage therapy Hall of Fame recipient. He is a nutrition specialist having authorized several books and publications, and was the former Director of Nutrition for the Parsippany Medical Complex.

Together, Kathy and Larry have built an extraordinary fitness and wellness center at Providence Health and Fitness, that provides everything you need to live a healthy and fit life including heart pounding fitness classes, yoga, Pilates, nutrition guidance, massage and meditation. It's all here under one roof.

Kathy prides herself on attention to detail and gets to know each and every client. She hopes you feel that her center is your home away from home.

Classes offered at Providence Health and Fitness include HIIT, Barre Intensity®, Pilates, Strength, Cardio, Fit Boot Camp, Yoga, Zumba® and Dance Groove to help you become stronger, leaner and more mobile. Providence is also a master training center for the Barre Intensity Program. Classes are LIVE, online through ZOOM and On-Demand. 

Specialized massages that we offer include Manual Lymph Drainage, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Medical, Pregnancy, Reflexology and Reiki. All of our massage therapists are the best of the best with a state license and additional certification in MLD by the Manual Lymph Drainage Institute, Cupping and traditional Barefoot Shiastu.

What to Expect at Our Classes

Upon arrival, you will check in to our beautiful reception area, and be inspired by our daily quotes. We openly invite you to add your own message of inspiration. 

We ask that new clients arrive 10 minutes prior to your class or appointment to familiarize yourself with the center. 

Our fitness classes are suitable for all levels, and everyone is welcome. We always offer variations and modifications. We are committed to ensuring you get a great workout and challenge your entire body - strengthening and lengthening your muscles. You will always find variety - you will never see the same workout twice. 

We are big on attention to detail and get to know each and every client. We want our center to be your home away from home. 

When you come to class

Please wear flexible, exercise clothes. For yoga, socks are optional. If you do choose to wear socks, please wear non-slip (we sell them at the studio).

Please bring water and your own mat if you choose. We also offer both for your convenience. 

Our studio has lockers, a changing area, and restrooms.

Her mission is to help people be healthy, peaceful and prevent injury – regardless of age. She loves educating clients and helping them be active, flexible and calm into their day-to-day living. Kathy is certified in many fitness programs including Pilates, GYROTONIC® exercises, Integral Hatha Yoga, and Barre Intensity®. She has created, managed, and directed exclusive wellness and fitness centers throughout the country and have taught over 12,000 fitness classes. Her love of health, fitness, and wellness is at the core of Providence Health and Fitness.

Larry is a co-founder of Providence Health and Fitness and the founder of the New Jersey School of Massage, which is the oldest massage school in New Jersey. He is also the director of massage therapy services for four elite massage therapy facilities. Practicing massage since 1975, he has treated more than 50,000 people! With advanced degrees and training in massage therapy, nutrition, counseling, education, interfaith ministry, meditation, and music, he has touched and inspired the lives of many. Larry loves sharing his experience, expertise, and guidance with the clients at Providence Health and Fitness, as they work toward physical, mental, and spiritual health and balance. Larry leads a free meditation bi-monthly.

Debra, a marketing professional with her own company YellowBloom.com, has had a passion for fitness and nutrition since she was 12 years old. She is a working professional, busy mom, fitness advocate, passionate nutrition enthusiast and founder of Heels To Laces, a fitness and nutrition co. Debra is an active, high-energy fitness instructor and trainer and with a specific interest in HIIT methodologies. She is an AFAA certified fitness instructor, certified in Tabata Bootcamp™, has an Advanced Sports Nutrition certification, a nutrition specialist certification and is certified in CPR and AED.

I am a certified Yoga Teacher RYT 500, Reiki Master, Certified Health Coach ' and have trained in many Energy Healing Modalities. I have been practicing Yoga and Reiki for over 18 years and teaching Yoga for nearly 10 years, embracing the Yoga lifestyle in every aspect of life. I have a Masters of Science in Yoga Therapy which gives me a better understanding of how the body and mind work in sync with one another as well as understanding the theories of health and disease relevant to the practice of Yoga and wellness. I presently teach Yoga 101 on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm. This class is an open-level class but geared for beginners and intermediate practices. However, my expertise allows me to create a class suitable for all levels. I am also available for private instruction and therapeutic Yoga sessions here at Providence Health and Fitness.

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by art. I graduated from Ithaca College with dual BAs in Art History and Fine Arts with a concentration on Figure Drawing. Through an artist's eye I fell in love with the intricacy and beauty of the human form - Yoga was the next logical step. I have recently completed my 500-hours studying under my teacher and friend Tiffany Cruikshank. I consider my education ongoing, and so my practice and teaching are constantly evolving. I offer a challenging but accessible, sweet and sweaty practice suitable for all levels. I apply my knowledge to give you a balanced flow of body movement and release.

Ilyse has been an AFAA certified fitness instructor since 2001. She teaches a wide variety of classes including boot camp, HIIT, Tabata, circuit training, step, kettlebells and kickboxing. She is also certified in TRX and Pound. Ilyse's passion for fitness is on full display during her classes. Always a cheerleader for her group, she encourages participants to push a little harder and challenge themselves whether it's jumping higher, lifting heavier or holding that plank a little longer. Ilyse is a firm believer that fitness classes should not only be challenging and efficient, but fun!

Kathy is a licensed massage therapist offering several different styles of massage such as: Medical, Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Pregnancy. Her specialties are Manual Lymph Drainage, Hot Stone, and Myofascial/John Barnes style. During the pandemic, Kathy learned how to perform Manual Lymph Drainage on horses who suffer from Chronic Progressive Lymphedema. In October 2020, she had the golden opportunity to visit the Parnell Ranch in Sandpoint ID and work on 19 Clydesdale horses at the ranch.
